Kellogg’s Chex has rolled out a new flavor, green onion. Back in 2004, the cereal company participated in a marketing stunt in Korea. It was an election staged for a new flavor, chocolate or green onion.
Much to their surprise a lot of people voted for the green onion flavor. It was a land slide! However, they never took the winning flavor into production. They moved forward with chocolate.
Sixteen years later, green onion flavor Chex is not only on the shelves; it’s almost sold out.
According to who have purchased, “it does not taste like green onion” and “it’s a slight mix of salty and sweet. And it tastes like a grilled onion, actually.”
